The Greatest Bathroom in the Land?

This weekend I visited my friend Guy in Bristol. It was the first time I’d been to his new house, and I couldn’t have imagined the chamber of delights that would greet me when I went to the bathroom. You see, Guy is big into theatre. A child actor, he not only featured in an episode of Casualty, he appeared on stage with Susan Hampshire in The King and I. His bathroom reflects this passion…

So there we have it. An homage to Theatreland with a show-playing TV behind retractable curtains, a giant chess piece alongside a portrait of Andrew Lloyd Webber, a classic dressing room mirror, looking glasses as toothbrush holder, hundreds of tickets, and a personal message from Susan Hampshire.

That’s not all though. Guy’s other passion is politics. So this is what he’s done to his downstairs cloakroom…

Yep, that’s a Number 10 Downing Street door. With a cuddly Policeman perched on a soap dish guarding it. A Chancellor’s red box above the loo. Wine from the Houses of Parliament, a pack of cards on the end of the light switch cord, and a photo of the time Guy got into the audience on This Week. A shrine to Westminster.

Are there any better themed bathrooms in all the Kingdom?
